Our insurance company also REQUIRES a signed copy of a liability release form before allowing anyone to ride. For renewing members we need a new signed release each year. You can download a copy of the form in PDF format by clicking here.

Membership Overview

Membership in the Downers Grove Bicycle Club (DGBC) is open to all individuals 18 years of age and greater. When applying for membership and upon each annual renewal, each adult member shall complete an application form and sign a waiver assuming full responsibility for their own conduct and waiving club liability for any accident, injury or loss incurred at any club-sanctioned activity. Parent(s) or guardian(s) must sign a waiver for each child under 18 years of age. These forms are available for download by clicking the "Membership Form" link at the top or left of this page.

A family membership is available for individuals of the same household with two or more members age 18 or older. Household members under 18 years of age may participate in non-voting club activities when:

accompanied by a parent or guardian; and,
with a parent/guardian signed waiver for the activity on file with the club.

DGBC reserves the right to revoke a membership at any time for conduct detrimental to the image of the club or safety of its members, accomplished by a simple majority vote of the Board.

All DGBC members are required to pay annual dues to finance club activities. Dues are currently set at $20 for an individual membership and $25 for a family membership. The membership year is the calendar year, with renewal dues due by January 31st. Members who join DGBC in the fourth quarter will have their first year membership period extended through the end of the following membership year. Members are considered delinquent if their renewal hasn’t been received by February 1st of the membership year and lose “Good Standing” status until the dues are paid. Members must be in Good Standing with dues current to be eligible to vote and to stay on the club’s communication roster.
