HI For the arboretum ride are we going to the Morton Arboretum? o we just meet at the Caribou with our bikes on the car or are we riding from Downers to the Morton by bike? Let me know Thanks Marian
Are there any beginner rides? I haven’t ridden in quite a few years so I’d like to start again slowly.
Is there a list of membership benefits? Or a members list?
Photos of past rides?
Sorry about the delay in replying. We do have beginner rides, if you haven’t already discovered them this late in the season! There’s the Sunday Joyride and the Tuesday night ride, both at slower speeds. The Joyride is particularly meant for beginners and folks who are uneasy about riding on roads with cars. We don’t publish our members list but once you join, you can see everyone in our Google Group. There are some members who are visible on our Facebook page, too. We have some pix on that Facebook page as well. http://www.facebook.com/downersgrovebicycleclub.
are you still running the Tuesday night no-drop ride? I am not a member but I wanted to join you on July 26 and no one was at McCollum Park when I was there shortly before 6p.m. tonite. The ride was still listed on your calender. It would be nice if all the leaders for rides could leave their email addresses for contact for situations like this.
Yes, the Tuesday night no-drop ride still rolls. We had to cancel the Tuesday night on August 2 due to excessive heat and it will be postponed this week from August 9th to August 11th because we have a club meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 at Ballydoyles Pub in Downers.
The best way to stay connected for last-minute ride changes is to join our Google Group – we send out notices about changes from there. If you go back to our home page you’ll see the sign-up box in the right column. Questions? You can contact someone using the Contact Us link up at the very top of our website.

Hi Marian – definitely riding from Caribou to the Morton Arboretum and back. No cars involved.
