The Downers Grove Bicycle Club offers many terrific riding and social opportunities throughout the year. Whatever your level of experience, we welcome you to join us. You need not be a member to join a ride.


  • 4/10/18 - General Meeting & Bike Drive at Emmett's

    Please join us for our third annual bike drive and a presentation by the Working Bikes cooperative. Working Bikes ships thousands of bicycles each year to countries throughout Latin America and Africa. Donate a bike for a great cause!

    • 5:00-7:30 PM drop off bikes at Emmett's (tax forms available) or arrange pickup with Bill Chalberg at advocacy@aol@dgbikeclub.ru.org.ru
    • 6:30-7:30 PM eat, drink and be merry (and socialize)! Order and pay on your own.
    • 7:30-8:30 PM meeting & presentation by Working Bikes

  • 4/7/18 - Spring Social Outing

    Our Spring Social Outing will be a 9.5 mile ride around Waterfall Glen (if you want more you can certainly start earlier!), followed by food and libations at Skeleton Key Brewery in Woodridge at 5:30. (Please park bikes in back of the brewery) The Roaming Hog food truck will provide food and live music starting around 7:00pm.

    We will meet at the trailhead at 101st and Lemont Road (map) at 4:00 pm, hit the trail at 4:15 for one lap around the Glen.

  • Spring 2018 - McDowell Grove Bridge & West Branch Trail to open

    The main entrance and parking lot of McDowell Grove Forest Preserve in Naperville and a section of the West Branch DuPage River Trail will remain closed through the end of May 2018 to replace the preserve’s 70-year-old single-lane entrance bridge.

    current status: bridge has been constructed but entrance & trail are fenced off

  • Spring 2018 - Greene Valley to Whalon Lake Trail opening

    The forest preserve districts in two counties, in conjunction with Elmhurst-Chicago Stone Co., are building a 1.25-mile trail connection between Greene Valley Forest Preserve in DuPage and Whalon Lake in Will. The 10-foot-wide limestone trail will run along Royce Road and Greene Road.
