2022 Ride Guide

The 2022 Ride Guide, created by Ride Illinois, is filled with details about many enjoyable rides, links for easy registration, safety tips and more!

Ride Illinois is a member-supported nonprofit organization. Downers Grove Bicycle Club is proud to support Ride Illinois as an affiliated bicycle club at the Silver Level. You can also become a member at the individual level or make a donation to support their work, so they can continue to provide training and advocate for cycling.

Download your copy of the 2022 Ride Guide on the Ride Illinois website.

Training for Ride Leaders and Sweeps*

A training session is scheduled for May as weather allows. Additional details will be shared shortly via email and Discord.

Interested in being a ride leader or sweep? Please consider attending!

*What's a "sweep"? That's a rider who rides at the back of the group and makes sure no one gets left behind. All ride leaders appreciate having a sweep, so if you're interested in helping, please join this training session.

We're a group of friends with a mission:

  • To promote bicycling for transportation, recreation and better health;

  • To encourage and assist beginning riders, welcome new members and be a diverse and inclusive club;

  • To schedule club rides, hold monthly meetings and offer social events;

  • To connect riders of similar skills and interests;

  • To educate members in safe riding practices and bicycle maintenance; and

  • To work with the village to improve cyclists' safety.
