How Do We Meet?
Club Social Events
In addition to the ride schedule, the bike club meets regularly for educational lectures regarding advocacy, safety, and items of interest to our cycling community either in person or on zoom. Additionally, these are wonderful opportunities for fellowship with other club members "off the bike" and a great opportunity to meet new people. For information or details about any of the club events, email email@example.com.
Monthly Member MeetingThis meeting occurs on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM either on Zoom until Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois is achieved and at Emmett's Brewing in Downers Grove once it is safe to meet in person.
Zoom Happy HourThe DGBC hosts a weekly Zoom Happy Hour at 5:30 PM on Friday nights for social engagement and camaraderie. Join us for a drink before we kick off the weekend!
Annual PicnicA tradition since 2006, the DGBC Annual Picnic celebrates the end of the formal riding season with a ride ending at a local park with club sponsored food and refreshments.
Holiday PartyCelebrate the holidays with your biking friends. This is a wonderful time together to thank our ride leaders, present some awards and socialize together with family members.
The purpose of the server is to create a positive and welcoming virtual area of engagement focused around cycling: training, fitness, technology, equipment, self-improvement, lifestyle, and connection with like-minded individuals. Developed during the the COVID-19 Pandemic, the DGBC Discord Server was started to allow for club members to communicate digitally and chat while doing virtual rides on Zwift, and later added a "touchless" ride sign-in once DGBC began sponsoring outdoor rides again. DISCORD provides us the ability to connect about rides, meet and engage with club members while maintaining privacy, and is a tremendous enhancement to the DGBC Member Experience. For more information on how to join the conversation, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
